HIPAA Baseline Assessments

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Baseline Assessment involves an on-site review of information flow processes (hospital based, imaging center and teleradiology), interviews with key personnel and a written follow-up report that documents current processes, identifies areas of concern regarding the HIPAA regulations and enables your practice to begin developing an implementation plan.

The baseline assessment is one of the first recommended steps in HIPAA compliance and is designed to document an organization's current processes regarding the flow of information involved in the treatment and/or billing of patients.  The follow-up report provides documentation of the baseline assessment, compares this information to HIPAA's requirements (to date) and enables management to begin outlining an implementation process (including which areas of the compliance plan can be adequately handled by existing staff and which may need to be outsourced to specialists.

HIPAA Implementation

We offer our working knowledge of radiology operations to your HIPAA implementation efforts.  Our principals have been involved in the development of a radiology-specific "how-to" manual for HIPAA, a monthly newsletter and numerous articles and presentations on a regional and national basis.

You can add our team to your management team - depending on your implementation needs.  If your staff can develop the various policies and procedures, we can provide plan development services and project oversight.  If you don't know where to begin with HIPAA, we can provide both plan development and implementation services.  As an option, we can continue to provide monthly compliance support on an on-going basis.
